She is a cost researcher, not a funeral director, and nothing she writes replaces a conversation with a licensed provider about your specific situation. Her sourcing draws on published funeral home price lists, FTC Funeral Rule disclosures, and industry cost data, and she flags plainly wherever a figure comes from this site's own model rather than an outside source. She covers end-of-life and healthcare cost topics across Encore Editorial's network of cost-guide sites.

Founder and Editor. Chris founded Cremation Cost and the wider Encore Editorial network of cost-guide sites, and sets the editorial standards every guide is checked against before it publishes. He does not write or byline the cremation guides; that work belongs to Naomi. His role is oversight: sourcing discipline, correcting errors readers flag, and keeping the calculator's assumptions honest.

How we handle bylines

Every cremation guide on this site carries Naomi Foster's byline because she wrote it. We do not publish guides under a house name or a fabricated "medical review board."
